For a robot pet that moves around the room and adds coding activities, choose Loona (AED 2,000). For a learning companion with storytelling and structured activities, choose Kebbi (AED 3,300). What is an AI robot pet?
It is a small robot that uses microphones and sensors to respond to voice and touch, and on some models a camera to recognise faces. It behaves like a character you live with, not a toy that does one trick. All four robots here are rechargeable. EMO and Kebbi need Wi-Fi and a companion app to set up, and Loona's games and coding activities run through its app.
EMO: the desk companion
EMO measures roughly 9.4 × 6.6 × 11.8 cm, about the footprint of a coffee mug. It recognises faces, so it treats a familiar person differently from a stranger. It answers voice commands and questions, plays music and games, and reacts when you pet the touch sensors on its head and body. It walks to the edge of the desk and stops, and it has more than a thousand expressions and movements.
EMO needs Wi-Fi and a companion app, and some features depend on an account. It is recommended for ages 6 and up with an adult doing the setup.
EMO Go Home: the same robot, with self-charging
EMO Go Home adds a Home Station. The robot navigates back to the station and charges on its own, so nobody has to place it on the charger. The station also has an LED matrix that shows information and feedback. Choose it if the robot will stay on one desk with stable Wi-Fi and a clear surface around the station. The extra cost over the standard EMO is AED 300.
Loona: the robot pet that moves around the room
Loona is built for the floor, not the desk. It uses a 720p camera, 3D time-of-flight sensing, microphones and motion sensors to recognise faces, track a person and detect obstacles. It responds to voice commands, plays app-connected games and supports Google Blockly coding, which makes it the choice for a child who wants to program as well as play.
The battery is a rechargeable 1350 mAh pack that gives about 2 hours of continuous play under typical conditions. Loona returns to its charging dock automatically when power is low.
Kebbi: the learning companion
Kebbi is a white and blue desktop robot with an expressive digital face and articulated joints. Its sensors respond to voice, movement and touch, and it is designed for structured activities, storytelling and daily interactive play. The box includes the robot and a charging cable.
Setup means connecting it to Wi-Fi, downloading its apps and creating accounts. App requirements, language availability and software packages can vary by regional configuration, so ask us before ordering if a specific language matters to you.
Which one for which child?
- A child who wants a character on the desk: EMO.
- A family that wants the robot to look after its own charging: EMO Go Home.
- A child who wants a pet that follows them and an introduction to coding: Loona.
- A family that wants storytelling and learning activities first: Kebbi.
- A teenager or adult collector: the Robosen Flagship Megatron (AED 8,000) converts between tank and robot on its own. It is for ages 12 and up, not a toy for young children.
