Among the positives, I must mention the excellent battles, standout characters, outstanding graphics, and music. However, the game’s pacing lacks consistency and may confuse novice players.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has expanded what the first remake laid the groundwork for in all aspects and delivered one of the best action role-playing titles possible. After 82 hours of experiencing the main story and a significant portion of side missions, there is still a lot of content left. This game has shown the inherent quality of Final Fantasy 7 in the best possible way. However, the overall story of the game, especially its ending, does not provide a satisfactory conclusion to all events and sometimes requires a simple explanation of what happened and its outcome.

The sequel introduces fresh ways to explore this beloved world while also having its flaws. Following the stories of beloved characters undoubtedly diminishes the extent of these flaws, but the long checklist of open-world activities and world design overshadow the complete brilliance of this game. The best aspects of the first remake are also present in Rebirth, but the surrounding open world isn’t as well-designed, making the new game different from previous titles not so good.

The new game has improved the overall gameplay experience and still offers the sense of freedom in action alongside the enjoyment of exploring a vast world. The improvement in gameplay and battles has also given the characters a fresh breath, and personal stories are also engaging and memorable. Although the overall story of the game is following a path that isn’t very appealing to me, and we have yet to see what ending Square Enix has planned for the overall story in the third game. Overall, the gameplay loop and exploration in the open world are satisfying, and side activities are of similar quality to main missions, but the ending is not well-designed, and mini-games also disrupt the pace of the overall game and story.
