Numerous rumors have circulated regarding the release of Xbox games for PlayStation. Microsoft has finally confirmed the release of 4 games for the Sony platform. Contrary to speculations, there are no plans by Microsoft to release major titles like Starfield for PlayStation. Peter Moore, the former Xbox executive, claims that talks about releasing Halo games for PlayStation have always been present, suggesting that Microsoft might eventually withdraw from the console production business.
Peter Moore, who was responsible for leading Xbox during the seventh generation, recently had a conversation with IGN. He reacted to the release of exclusive games for the Sony platform, stating, “I think they want to dip their toe in the water and see what happens. I remember discussions about releasing Halo for PlayStation. You have to constantly consider all scenarios, no matter how meaningless and radical they may seem.”

Halo games have never been released for PlayStation, and it seems unlikely to happen in the coming years. A credible leaker recently disclosed the production of a PlayStation port for the game Starfield by Bethesda. This new title might be brought to the Sony platform sometime this year. However, these rumors have been dismissed by Phil Spencer, and Xbox does not intend to change its business format that easily.
Release of Halo for PlayStation?
Peter Moore further referenced the Xbox 360 era, stating that they thought another console generation was coming to an end, and they had to think of other solutions: “In 2007, we said this was the last generation of home consoles. Are televisions being produced that have a specific chip for running games and only require a controller?” This question, raised in 2007, has now become a reality.
