The initial or trial version of the game Gray Zone Warfare has been released on Steam. This new tactical shooter aims to compete with major titles such as Escape from Tarkov and the popular Ghost Recon series by Ubisoft. The studio MadFinger, based in the Czech Republic, has announced the release of their new military game as an Early Access title.
MadFinger Games studio has previously released popular mobile games such as Shadowgun and Dead Trigger. This marks their first entry into the PC gaming domain, presenting them with a challenging path ahead. The CEO has stated that the most crucial phase of the studio’s activity has begun, aiming to establish a significant presence for themselves with a realistic tactical shooter prioritizing modern battles. After several years of development, they have succeeded in the initial release of the game on Steam.

The price of Gray Zone Warfare is approximately $35. The special edition, named Tactical Edition, is priced at $60 and provides gamers with significant items to start with. The most expensive version, sold for $100, offers approximately $25,000 worth of in-game currency and a set of decorative items such as outfits, logos, and skins to the buyer. But what is the gameplay and overall experience of this game, and what content do fans of tactical shooters expect to encounter?
Content of Gray Zone Warfare
Firstly, it should be noted that the main map of the game covers an area of about 42 square kilometers. 48 players enter the map simultaneously, and several hundred bots or AI units are scattered across the map. Game modes include PvEvP and PvE. You can play individually or in groups, with each group consisting of four players. The gameplay proceeds by entering the island with your friends and then completing various tasks. Currently, more than 150 tasks have been defined for players.
The main objective of the game is not to eliminate opponents. Instead, you are required to fulfill the tasks defined, and you may encounter other player groups along the way and engage in combat. If you have experienced tactical shooters before, you know what you’re up against. The developer has stated that the Early Access phase may take several years. Therefore, do not expect to receive the final version in the coming months.
New content, weapons, and missions are planned to be added gradually. Additionally, game issues and bugs will be addressed soon.
