Doug Cockle, the iconic voice behind Geralt of Rivia, expresses his desire to return to the role of Geralt in the upcoming remake of The Witcher 1. The remake, codenamed Canis Majoris and developed by CD Projekt using the powerful Unreal Engine 5, aims to revitalise the first installment of The Witcher franchise.
After the announcement of the remake’s development using Unreal Engine 5, Doug Cockle shared his enthusiasm for once again collaborating with CD Projekt and lending his voice to the revamped Geralt character. Cockle stated, “I will continue voicing Geralt as long as I have a voice. This role has become a part of my existence, and each time CD Projekt reaches out to me for a project, I get extremely excited. I usually accept most requests from the company because I have a great deal of interest in collaborating with this studio. I am thrilled about the remake of the first Witcher game, a project I am passionate about. I vividly remember recording Geralt’s voice for the game back in 2005. I believe the game was developed in 2007, and we are approaching its almost twenty-year anniversary.”
