The start of 2024 brought with it the announcement of high-quality role-playing titles, and one of the most anticipated titles in this genre is soon to be released. Hideaki Itsuno, in an interview with Game Informer magazine, discussed the length of the story in Dragon’s Dogma 2. According to him, players can expect an extensive narrative experience that can keep them engaged for at least a month.
In a recent interview, Hideaki Itsuno revealed that the story length of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is similar to the first game. Therefore, players will need approximately 37 hours to complete the main missions. However, if they wish to experience most of the game’s content, they should allocate around 80 hours. Itsuno stated, “Players who only want to experience the main campaign should not notice a significant difference in the overall playtime compared to the first game.” It’s worth noting that there are players who have spent over 200 hours experiencing the first game.

The director’s remarks about Dragon’s Dogma 2 do not imply that we’re facing a short-lived title. Itsuno reassured fans that there are numerous side missions and various tasks beyond the main campaign, which will “significantly” extend the game’s duration. He mentioned, “Players who want to experience everything and are intrigued by every little detail will find the overall game time to be significantly longer.”
Dragon’s Dogma 2 story length
If you’ve experienced Dragon’s Dogma before, you know it’s a time-consuming endeavor. In fact, experiencing all content and exploring all locations requires over 100 hours. It should be noted that the overall playtime for the second game will exceed 100 hours, and with a broader map design, expect a lengthy game. If only the main storyline matters to you, 37 hours should suffice.
Capcom’s approach to designing the new game makes it harder to utilize fast travel. As a result, you’ll need to spend a lot of time traveling on the map, and various events will occur along the way. Consequently, it’s impossible to simply follow the main storyline. Media outlets that have access to Capcom’s role-playing game say we’re facing one of the best titles of the year that could even win the Best Game award.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on March 21, 2024, for PC and next-gen consoles. The PC version uses Denuvo and won’t be cracked. The console version is locked at 30 frames per second, and according to reviews, the PS5 version may not even be able to provide a stable 30 frames.
