Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker, founders of Rocksteady Studios and creators of the Batman Arkham series, are rumored to be developing a top-tier narrative-driven game for Xbox. The creators of “Batman Arkham Knight” left Rocksteady during the development of “Suicide Squad” and decided to establish an independent studio. Reports indicate that they have signed an exclusive contract with Xbox and have commenced work on a new game.
Sefton Hill, the director of the Batman Arkham trilogy, and Jamie Walker, the studio director, played significant roles in the creation of these projects. After their departure from Rocksteady, they founded Hundred Star Games, choosing to operate independently. Approximately one hundred developers are currently employed at this studio.
According to a recent report by eXputer, Xbox is funding the development of Hundred Star Games’ first title, which is expected to be a first-person action-adventure game. The new game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is likely to be exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem. However, given Microsoft’s recent approach to game releases, it is possible that the game could also be available on PlayStation.
New Project from the Minds Behind Batman Arkham
Approximately twenty percent of the staff at Hundred Star Games are former Rocksteady developers. The studio, based in East London, aims to create extraordinary gaming experiences while focusing on diversity and inclusivity. The studio prides itself on a crunch-free work environment and fostering warm relationships among team members.

The return of the creators of Batman Arkham is exciting news for fans of engaging single-player games. It appears that Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker were seeking creative freedom after growing weary of directive projects like “Suicide Squad” and preferred to pursue unique and personal projects. Xbox has shown confidence in this newly established studio by providing the necessary budget for their first game. Similar new studios have been formed in recent years, and it will be interesting to see the final results.
The Batman Arkham series is renowned for its compelling story and fluid, exciting gameplay. The creators of this series have had a significant influence on other games, and every superhero game developed today owes a debt to the principles established by Batman Arkham. What do you think?
